This is more of a gripe than a question, but could ATT have a popup asking us if we wanted to reboot our BB instead of just rebooting...like mine did this morning...in the middle of me trying to find a business in heavy traffic...at 7:30 AM in Washington DC...

I suppose it's no big deal, but...

My suspicions would be that if your bberry is rebooting randomly it's because the OS has become unstable to the point it forces a reboot. I can't explain fully why mine does reboot, but I have noticed that the random reboots occur when my File Free level drops below 15mil bytes. I can't confirm this is the reason my bberry reboots, but it is just a coincidence that I have noticed regularly. As a result, I downloaded a free app called QuickPull which has the option to set a warning based on the file free threshold you set, which will ask if you want to reboot your bberry. This doesn't solve the reason your bberry has a memory leak, but it might help avoid the inconvenient reboots by allowing you to reboot when you want.
