Just DLed/installed the mandated update for BB Messenger 5 and see that it successfully whacked my BB Maps that I'd gotten installed via the "AT&T Workaround" posted here. Anyone else notice this?

I didn't realize the BM upgrade was "mandated." Thought it was just leaked, but I could be wrong...
In any event, just reinstall whichever version of BBM that was working for you. That should fix your issue.
Well, it took two tries, but that's what I did and it seems to have fixed it. The first time, I went back to the original thread where I found the work-around, ran the routine and still no maps. Went to desktop manager, verified that BB Maps was checked, did a core update and then went back to the workaround link. The first attempt hadn't prompted a reboot, but the second one did, and when that was done, BB Maps was back in the game. Life is good. :-)
By the way, the reason I updated BB Messenger was because I got one of those "red letter messages" from the BB Network Administrator telling me that the beta version I had installed needed to be updated by 12/15/09, otherwise it wouldn't be supported. I guess that'll teach me not to be so concerned about attaining cutting-edge status, software-wise. :-�
