so my sister in law has a phone that was an alltel accnt and it is now verizon, i have an extra line on my accnt and was wondering if we could do an esn swap to put her current phone on my account and she can have my other one?

You would not be able to put an Alltel phone on a VZW account.

If your service was aquired by VZW and you still have a an Alltel plan and device, this can be done.

Sounds like maybe the OP should call in so that the ESN etc can be checked, because it sounds like BOTH answers can be true depending on circumstance. Call 1-800-922-0204
