You should have gotten it from Sprint before you left. They probably wont give it to you now. You'll need to pay an unlocker. This is who I have used in the past BlackBerry Unlock Codes | UniquePhones

Don't the Sprint Tour's come unlocked already?
My sprint tour was already unlocked when I got it I think they all are for the most part!!!
Ah yeah, I forgot about that. The early ones weren't but the later Sprint ones are supposed to be. Have you put in the At&t SIM? Once you do, go to Manage Connections>Mobile Network Options and switch to GSM/UMTS 2G only.
are networks required to unlock phones? my buddy wants my storm when i switch to the tour and said i can go in to have vzw unlock it first before he takes it. is this true? why would they unlock the phone if people always just use them on other networks?
If you're a customer in good standing for 60+ days you can get the Storm's unlock code from VZW, for free, by calling Global Services and simply requesting it. I assume you're still active on VZW...
To answer your question, because they don't know it's going to be used on another network. There are legitimate reasons to unlock a phone other than porting it to another network (eg: traveling abroad.)
Exactly, just tell them your going on a business trip over seas and you need it unlocked for travel purposes.
true. thanks guys for the help.
Sorry noob question:
can I get the unlock code for free? I'm using verizon tour right now. I'm going on overseas trip and thinking of using local sim card. How do I get the unlock code btw?

Call your provider and ask them for it. If you qualify for the unlock code then they will provide it.
