Getting a Curve in a couple of weeks, but I've added the 250MB unlimited data and BB package to my Orange account in the meantime.

Used a little bit of data on a Samsung i600, and it's charged me 42p.

Am I right therefore to assume that it "knows" when you're using a Blackberry to use the data, and only lets you have it free then? (Surely if it's using the "orangeinternet" APN either way though, it wouldn't be able to tell the difference?)

    Help!

A Blackberry tarif will not cover you for data use on any other phone. I don't know the in's and out's of it all but that is how it is.

The BlackBerry bundle does assume that your surfing, viewing videos etc (as well as email), is going via software (BlackBerry or 3rd party) that links via BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and not the orangeinternet APN. The data is compressed, so they'll spot it if it isn't.
