Hey guys. Im running the .230 and my reception has been horrible. Checked my PRL and it was 0. Called *2 and told them I'd like to update the PRL and they did so with no problem. Had to call the *2 back, verify my # and then was told the update was in progress. The phone hangs up and I check my PRL and its 60655. Im hitting 3 bars now instead of the barely 1-2 I was getting but I may be over checking my phone
Question I have though is this.....I heard that we shouldnt backup and restore the service books when updating the PRL since I have .230.....but since I already have a fuctioniong and ideal PRL , can I backup like normal?

If you already have .230 and you can update your PRL then you have nothing to worry about.

Well I updated the PRL, but I when i soft reset, it went back to 0 again. Im calling Sprint now to have them reset it again and then Im gonna back up device and see if that fixes the issue after a soft reset.
*EDIT* Ok thats not going to work. Is there a way Im going to be able to keep this PRL after a soft reset on the .230? Using the Update Prl function in the Mobile Options only soft resets my device

If the "Update Preferred List" option resets your device then you need to reinstall the OS without restoring your Service Books.
I was able to get the 60655 PRL. I called and just requested an update from Sprint to make sure I was using the latest one, probably about a week ago. I don't know if it maked a diff but my phone says it's the 8330m.

i have the e.... it could be why.. i asked for update.. and it did the update when icalled *2 and rebooted my phone but the version number stayed the same idk why.. it actually did the update..
Placed a call to *2 and they said they will update it.....the CSR asked if this was my first call regarding this update, which it was...anyone else get that question?? Was wondering if it was because mine seems to be so far behind everyone else's at "60652"??
are you askin the post above or are you asking how to find it? if your asking how to find it type #4357* on ur phone and hit send / call
Thanks for the directions. I am on 5.0 and just upgraded to the lestest hybrid and my prl is 60655 so I guess mine is staying fairly current or just one version off. Does resending service books update the prl?
