Well, if you can afford a Tour and a service plan, you can afford $2.88 for an unlock code. Look on eBay.

Did you check the "Unlocking" Thread? Lots of good advice on there. For example, after 60 days of service with your Tour, you can request the unlock code from your carrier. They should give it to you for free. For example, if you are going on a European vacation and want to use a local SIM card.
