I came from a curve to a tour last thursday, no signal issues at all with my curve, on the tour, a few times a day, random times I will lose signal and drop to 1x.. why? is this a tour thing.. what...

It's not a Tour Thing. I have had mine for over 4 months and cant really remember ever losing 3G (Verizon). Sounds more like a Sprint coverage issue.

I have bouncing signal issues... It's a Tour thing. I hate it, and I still haven't gotten a solution. If you happen to find one, let me know

Mine does the same thing quite often. Sometimes I look and i'll be at 1X in a place I normally have full 1XEV only to see it jump back up again. It hasn't affected call quality that i've noticed except in one area which i frequent where I get a lot of dropped calls and notice it fluctuate the entire time i'm in that spot.

there was a post a while back in the tour forum about fixing jumpy signal by taking out the sim card (or flipping it over and putting it back - same difference) and doing a battery pull. i did it and there was a noticeable difference. also make sure under "Manage Connections/Mobile Network Options" that "Network Technology" is set to 1XEV and that your PRL is updated to the latest version which is 60657 i believe.

Currently I'm running irtehun's v7.12 Hybrid for the 5.0.0.230 but swapped out the 230 radio for the .191 radio and seem to be having the same signal as I did with my Curve.

The 5.0.0.230 files are known to have some signal instability, but she's not using OS5, so that shouldn't be the issue.

Should be IMHO when I got the Tour on Sunday I was thinking of returning it the next day because it was so bad. Slow OS issues, ability to edit sound profiles individually etc. After loading 5.0 I love this phone.

I never had 4.7 long enough to comment on signal issues. But I can say the .191 radio I'm running now is on par with my previous curves.

Any tips on getting the .191 radio to work in 7.12? I tried doing the radio swap and I had the worst signal out of any os.

No tips other then replacing the 230 radio. I haven't tried any other combination so I cant comment on others. But for me, I haven't noticed any big differences compared to my Curve reception. I'll probably wait for v7.13 to drop and go from there.

I had the curve and went to tour. with 4.7 i had much worse signal than 5.0

dont get me wrong the .230 radio still sucks but much better than the 4.7.

also what fixed my ev to 1x problem was going to the options and selecting under network pref. 1X-EV. dont use Global. then take the sim card out and put it in the box. believe it or not, i still havnt dropped 1XEV since.

Any chance you can point me to instructions on how to do this? I can probably find the hybrid in the forum but not sure about best way to swap out the radio.

    Thanks!
