I have the 8330 from US Cellular and all of a sudden I'm noticing that there is a little red star up at the top left corner. I don't know what it is. And then a little over an hour ago my blackberry made a weird ringtone noise I've never heard before. Anybody have any idea what this little red star means?

Do you belong to a BBM group? That is usually where I see a new Group Message indicated.

New Message, BBM, BBM Group, App Word notification, or other notification of some sort, The red star should be on top of an icon of some sort.

also, depending on what theme you're using, the top left corner could display different icons and notifications than other people's bb's. if you could post a screenshot, that would be quite helpful.
