So last friday i had my 8900 stolen, and now after going through the insurance and filing claims AT&T was able to provide me with an 'early upgrade' so another 8900 is on the way (soon hopefully) and my question is, that when it arrives can i take it in store and exchange it for a 9700? I'm asking this because i recall something about a 30-day exchange period when upgrading, and this apparently seems like it was an upgrade.

The replacement you are receiving is most likely a refurb.

The store will not take it back as a return/exchange.

This is just from reading other posts, and not from first hand experience.

If it was an exception upgrade they gave you, then yes. Exchange for a 9700!
