    Are you talking about the network signal indicator?

    It varies from OS revision to OS revision. Some of them say 3g, some of them say 1XEV.

    yess sirr i thought verizon would say 1XEV also? keep in mind dyllon it has to be in capital letters exactly 1XEV.... 1xev is .... ?

    1XEV = 3g + BIS, 1xev = 3g no BIS.

    It's just dependent on the revision. 5.0.0.230 might show 3G, while 5.0.0.411 might show 1XEV.

    CDMA Carriers display 1XEV for their 3G Coverage, and 1xev or 1x for non-data. GSM Carriers display 3G symbols and such.

    they are .. there pushing a 4G phone this year. Sprint has been usual first in these types of things.. took 3-5 years later for Most GSM companies to tout 3g. I remember those commercials.. "WE NOW HAVE 3G" "Unlimited CALLS PLUS WITH OUR NEW 3G NETWORK" I was laughing because I had 3g years ago?...

    Sprint will be announcing their first 4g phone with LG at CES. One rumor says it'll be an Android device while another says WinMo.

    The 4G is as confirmed as it can get without word from either company. What's up in the air is the OS, Android or WinMo. I'm pulling for Android, although the US CEO of T-Mobile said today in the WSJ that the Nexus One will be on all carriers in the next 12 months.
