I am looking to get the Storm 9530 for my brother...I was wondering if I buy it and get it unlocked if it will work on my network with their sim card. I am on the Rogers Canada network.
I currently own a 9500 fully unlocked and it works on the Rogers network expect I don't get the 3G just the EDGE network, because the 9500 does not support the Rogers 3G band. So should I get the same results with the 9530 as the 9500.
Yes it will work on Rogers also. The thing is that Telus and Bell are not giving out the unlock codes, and are the only ones that have them right now, so using a 3rd party unlocking company won't help. They may eventually get the codes like they did for Verizon, but as of now, unless you know someone inside the respective companies, you will not be able to unlock it so that it may be used on Rogers.
