    I have the 10MB data plan from Verizon and I just checked my usage and it said that I have used 693.35KB. How many MB is this? I found a conversion chart but I can't do the math, Im really, really bad at math. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to go up to the unlimited data plan.

    Thanks

    Technically, yes this is correct. General rule of thumb is what I said..

    And considering its a phone company, their prolly gonna go with the rule of thumb standard with it being 1000kb. Those extra 24kb probably cost them a whole cent.

    On the verizon website you can login to your account and it should show you in MB. I copied/paste mine below:

    For your reference, your data usage is also shown in
    Megabytes.
    In Kilobytes
    6,612 KB

    In Megabytes*
    7 MB

    * Rounded up

    On the Verizon Web site they give you an example of the average size of downloads of songs, picture message, etc. This might be useful in making your decision as well

    One has to wonder why you're on a 10MB plan for $29.99 when an unlimited data plan is available for the same amount?

    Oh, I'm not on the 29.99 plan. It's 24.99. I had originally asked for the 29.99 when I ordered over the phone but it came as 24.99 10mb plan. I have kept it for the past few weeks because I wanted to see what I could get by on for a month before I went up. I don't/can't pay for stuff I don't use even if it is only 5 bucks more.

    Thanks for all the replies. I love CB!

    Keep in mind that that $5 can save you from hundreds if not more in data overages... depending on what you use. Also keep in mind that you can check the MB used online under the Verizon account management. There's a section called My Usage, it'll show you what you are using and it'll also tell you if you're over and what it'll cost because of it.

    The extra 5 bucks is worth it. You won't have to keep tabs on your usage and browse the web and watch youtube and stuff as much as you like. When I had the 8830WE I didn't do much browsing and I averaged around 7-8MB a month so the 10MB plan was sufficient, but when I got the curve I had to bump to the unlimited one. I am at 47MB not and I still have 10 days before my cycle starts over. And there are users who do waaaay more than I do. I would suggest just getting the unlimited data for the 5 bucks. And if you have the unlimited data, you can tether (if you wanted to) for a cheaper rate and not worry about excessive overages.
