On contract. My old contract expired (Plan 1799) and I just renewed it; got the black Q10 for free without any cashout, locked in for 24 months I think.

The Z10 is SIM-unlocked And my Smart LTE works with the unit. I've been looking for someone who could unlock my Q10 locally. I already had 2 unsuccessful unlocks with two shops. Someone here posted that he had his Q10 unlocked in SM San Lazaro, at 'Hello' shop. I have yet to go there.

IMHO, try unlockthatphone.com they only offer 8$ / P400 for a BlackBerry Unlock. Well the last time I checked. That's also where I had my PlayBook LTE unlocked too (from Rogers CA originally). Try also freeunlocks.com too (7$ / P300) . Both online service require PayPal.

No, feeling ko ang swerte ko nga eh hahaha. Seriously, I wasn't expecting it to be free. I was actually surprised. I thought I would need to make a cashout, and I was even prepared to give it. And besides, I don't want any other phone, even if I could have had more expensive options. This is what I really want. No way will I choose iPhone or Samsung.

Depends. That just means you have more consumable amount left. With Plan 999 (assuming you have Unlisurf), your consumable amount for calls and text will just be 101.00

Got my BBQ10 @ Plan999 w 101 consumable. Tried using the SIM to my Curve9320, but it didn't have the BIS symbol so it was useless. Called Globe, told the rep my BBQ10 is in repair and I need to use the SIM. Good rep said he'll adjust my plan. Instead of Unlisurf 999 he'll make it BlackBerry Plan. So now I'm enjoying unlimited surfing plus 500 consumables! SIM can also be used in non-BB device.

How do you guys backup your contacts?

I'm used to my WP8 phones wherein everything is backed-up to my MS Account including texts/chats. Or Nokia's Symbian, wherein I could just select all my contacts and then save them to my SD card.

Besides buying an app from the BB World, what other options do you guys use?

Wow! So, it seems that there is no solution. Did you try factory restore? Because some of the comments pertaining to the said problem, basically that is their suggestion. It?s kinda frustrating because the device really performs in a manner that I want. Hope blackberry ph will look into this.

Isn't this a physical issue? Besides, my BBQ10's software was wiped out after 10 tries forgot password... I brought it to Makati service center, so they must'v factory restored this...

If your shifting from Z10 to Q10 be prefare for a huge screen sacrifice. If you like to browse internet, play games, watch media a lot. I suggest you should stay on Z10 or if like you can upgrade to Z30 that will give you a much more better experience. But if you don't care all the things I addressed above. And your damn fingers are etching to get the taste of those awesome physical clicky hardware keys. Well! By all means what the heck a you waiting for. Battery on Q10 is f*ck!ng awesome. The portability size is great and best of all. It's a damn looking elegant, sophisticated, professional looking device. Good luck dude. Ayos ba..
