Globe and Smart users from the Philippines
- Just called my account officer (smart infinity) to ask for a 4G sim because i will be replacing my bb9900 to a Z10. She told me "sorry sir smart doesn't support BlackBerry Z10 and suggest for an iphone5 instead" YUK!
I ask her " so you mean to say if I buy a Z10 and put a 4G smart sim it will not work?"
She replied "unfortunately sir yes it will not work"
.... no wonder BlackBerry sale is down
Can anyone confirm this? 4G sim on Z10 will not work.
My other line is Sun on a Z10 and it works but 3G only. (wala pa naman 4G sun)
Posted via CB with STL100-208-21-13 07:19 AMLike 0 - I search the net what frequencies the telco is using and i found this.... Globe is using 1800 for LTE while smart is using three bands 5 (850) 3 (1800) and 1 (2100)
Z10 STL100-2 supports LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 - STL100-2
So my Z10 should work with smart LTE unless smart is only using band 1 and 5

Thing is its every right for a customer to avail of a phone he/she wants. Plus for smart to have the iPhone 5 they got slapped with a monthly quota so they need to sell lots of iPhone so in turn apple can pressure them to do free product marketing and push for them shameless anti trust tactics if you ask me.

- You use your wifi network to establish the call instead of using the phone network. In some cases wifi calling presents a more reliable way of connecting to the phone lines. Example when there is only wifi in a building and there is no cellular coverage. Subways are great examples of this.

VOIP is a dated tech for phone calls, in my opinion, kasi IP dependent pa. HD Voice is a new tech introduced recently na kaya ng BlackBerry Q10 ma-adapt.

- Kinda long thread. Globe users, how's your battery life? I'm on 10.2.0.1047, stl100-2. Any tips? Some people are saying it's network dependent, I'm getting 6-7 hours. Any tips?
Usage - sms, light email 10-20/day, BBM, cb10, a bit of browser, a bit of fb and twitter + wechat.

I'm turning off 4g for now. No 4g at home, limited 4g coverage wherever I tend to go too.
Btw, anyone tried 10.2's here on globe q10s? Planning to load one on the wife's phone.
Cheers!
