a simple computation where it shows the difference between GLOBE and SMART

SMART Plan 1200 + 350 relay fee= u pay Php1550 (assuming you use your consumable plan for blackberry only)

    1200/15cents = YOU PAY Php1550 for 8000KB

GLOBE Plan 800 + Data Plan 700 (again, assuming you use ur gflex plan800 for blackberry only)
    800/15cents = 5333KB + 5000KB(free from plan700 data plan)
    YOU PAY Php1500 for 10333KB

    SMART - Php1550 = 8000KB
    GLOBE - Php1500 = 10333KB

*confirmed both by Smart and Globe CSRs

Bottomline of this is, its still for users to decide.if you dont use much of ur blackberry, plus you have more contacts under SMART, then go for smart, its cheaper by Php100 for the activation fee of your BIS.But GLOBE is MORE BLACKBERRY FRIENDLY if your a Blackberry user.

were all here to promote blackberry and gain friends, no personal issues.these are factual data..it is still up to you to decide what telecom will give you more savings..

Can you kindly confirm paul as to whether globe charges the 450 relaying service fee as a seperate fee from the plan itself and is this a one-time payment unlike smart which charges it every month.
By the way aside from the cost consideration, and for curiosity's sake why is globe more blackberry friendly according to you? Does it offer additional features or services not offered by the other? Please do enlighten me.

yes its on top of ur plan. i originally subscribed on that plan but eventually shifted to plan 700 w/ free 5MB data allocation.same concept as the 350 relaying fee of smart. for globe its 450/mo if BIS activation fee only/

So if I will subscribe to globe's data plan for example 700 and my regular plan is 800 there is no more relaying fee monthly? That's great!

Wow thanks paul, I really appreciate the info. Might give Globe a second chance after all after I finish my retention contract with smart after three (3) months (bummer).

    Good news for smart subscribers!

I just had a talk with one of their CSR and to my delight, they are offering an additional BIS plan of 700 for 10mb of data and on top of that, thay are waiving the relaying service fee. I'm going straight to a smart wireless center tom to inquire and subsequently subscribe to this.

Wow.it is indeed great news for smart users! I hope they also fix data billing charges. The company I work for is now on smart bes. Those who chose to get bes are now getting charged anywhere between 5k to 20k. I have to admit though that some users are to be blamed for their wanton use of facebook! Haha

Considering that I have this innate character to be skeptical I called smart's trunkline (8881111) and yes they confirmed it. Additional 700 plan for 10 mb of consumable data, inclusive of the relaying service fee. Any excess shall be charged to your regular plan at .15c per kb. SWEET! 10mb of data for 700.

Hahaha I'm also a facebook app abuser.

    BES - Blackberry Enterprise Service

Mostly used by corporate user's like organization and company. There some some restriction here like IT Policy.

    BIS - Blackberry Internet Service

Used by individual account like us

Both account have push mail features. Unlike the BES, the company have the BES Administrator who managed and organise the server. And afaik the admin have the authority to read all your emails and text messages and can monitor your inbound and outbound calls.

existing Globe BB user since May 2009. Plan 700/5MB. i almost unsubscribed because the CSR told me to use Time browsing instead of KB browsing. u can just imagine my phone bill.. it soared to ridiculous heights!

Loko yun ah. First hand experience with Globe CSR's, they are not much familiar with technical concerns bout Blackberry. If you have any hard time to talk with them, you can always escalate your case to their Tier2 or Level 2 eng'r.

Btw, can I have your PIN?
