Thanks for the advice, pero I believe naman na properly inserted naman yuon SIM card...as the SIM card is correctly identified by the passport. An d also both Globe and Smart network's signals are detected in "emergency calls only". I believe if the SIM was not properly seated or the likes,then the SIM would not be determined and detected by the Passport, nor will it correctly see the network signals of both Globe and Smart...fyi,when I am at the mall,the Passport appears to be working. Go figure (hahaha, naka ka baliw!!!), the current Smart SIM card works at the mall. But only if you are10 to 15 feet away from the Smart business office. I think it could be the antenna? Hahaha...ayo ko nang isipin...nayon it's just a WiFi device...

Yes most likely an issue with signal strength or incorrect detected of network. Try to do manual network rather than auto. Alao try 2G only or 3G only.

When mine had that problem... it too able to detect that a Globe sim card inserted.

There's only one version that's working and it's an old one. Download the version 1.0.5165.2228. Voice and video calls not working by the way though you'll be able to receive them.

You can always go to Greenhills. They can fix anything. But I think you need to provide the new battery.
