GCI and T-Mobile strike LTE roaming deal TmoNews

In freakin' Alaska. Well at least somebody is getting roaming.

Now if they would do Yosemite, the Eastern Sierras, Mono Lake, and all those holes in Nevada and Utah.

This is good news even though just for Alaska. When I was visiting Arkdale, WI a couple of weeks ago (My home base is north of Boston, Ma), TMO was no where in sight. When I got to the log cabin I saw that I had full hspa bars roaming on ATT. Of course I shut that down and relied on wifi. I am going to have to call TMO to see if they do have roaming agreements with ATT and just how much roaming can I do. Tis good to see that TMO is actively seeking roaming partners.

When I used to visit my son at school in Boston (where I found TMO better than AT&T) we'd head north for Vermont and I would promptly lose TMO and roam straight onto AT&T. I was back about five months ago and roamed for two weeks on AT&T.

Did you get hit with roaming charges? Big or small charges?

None. There's X GB of downloads and I only checked my email occasionally, mostly back at the hotel on wifi.

I was in eastern South Dakota this summer and in small towns I was roaming on AT&T. In the largest cities and on the main interstate highways I had T-Mobile Service.
