Been out of the Android vortex for a bit, but any idea if one brought a DTEK50 to T-Mo (assuming they will not carry a branded version) if wifi-calling could be made to work?

i would wait ,on their specs shows compatible with tmo and att but there is not much released
i know priv on vzw doesn't have wifi calling when lg g5 it's got and better cameras and it's cheaper but it doesn't have advance interactions

Verizon, Sprint and AT&T (unless something changed) have been pretty specific about the phones which will use WFC. T-Mo has been, by comparison, very open on this issue. Just curious about Android BYOD to T-Mo and those phones ability to get WFC.

lg g5 and assuming samsung s7 it's got wifi calling on vzw and video calling between vzw subscribers ,i don't know about other carriers

When the Priv came out, the COO said that an unlocked Priv would have WiFi calling and voLTE. Maybe someone should tweet him again and put this to bed.

I would be thrilled to get the July security update from them for my Priv.

It would appear to me that TMo is becoming what the other US carriers have already become wrt BlackBerry. Everything is speculation untill it actually shows up and you can check the actual hardware yourself. DO it quick, as in a flash it, and its support, will vanish.

Yes, the North American, it even says T-Mobile when booting.

Your SIM will give you the T-Mo logo. Have you looked at various menus, like "Phone"? Or settings? I set up a friend's Android recently for WFC and we had to locate the correct menu.

I think I have looked everywhere. Why I really believe it isn't there is because on the Play Store it won't even show up and it usually does if it is available for your phone.

Be getting mine in a couple days so there'll be two of us messing around with it. However, I thought that if an app was incompatible it would show up but just say it won't work with your phone. Are you sure the app is on Playstore?

No. I updated to 10.3.2.2789...once it was confirmed to be a good build. I waited for it because I needed WFC.

It shouldn't. Phones can launch WFC-ready. The Priv hadn't even been picked up by TMO and it was WFC (and voLTE) ready on TMO.

I guess lower level reps (still) don't know what they're talking about. I don't remember where I read this--CB or elsewhere--but someone had said that it would take more than the word of the rep saying it to confirm that this phone has WFC. I guess they were right.

You might be right, I just looked at an old Galaxy S4 with wifi calling and it is not the T-Mobile app, it is just Samsung controls. I know it was said that it would have it, perhaps it will come in an update.

Tmonews confirmed that it should have VoLTE and wifi calling. I see the VoLTE but no wifi.
