    I'm currently on Sprint but i'm switching to Verizon soon due the coverage issues i've been having. The question I have is if Verizon still cripples their phones? I knew back then they wouldn't allow GPS access is this still the case? Thanks in advance for the response!

    Since the storm 1 - GPS is now using a differnet chip that will allow open GPS.

    The droid uses google for gps and it is on point.

    They never did cripple their smartphones, nor GPS. A quick search here will reveal the truth.

    Install 0S 5.0.230, as documented in the Beta OS forum. Your GPS will then work for everything. Mine works great.

    Why go to the bother? It worked on 4.6 & 4.7, too.
