Do I have to tell O2?

Hi i am thinking of changing my 8900 on o2 to the blackberry storm im going to buy a new one off ebay and unlock it to use on o2.
Would I have to tell o2 about this? I am on a monthly blackberry tarrif the 45 pounds on which includes blackberry email etc.

No you dont have to tell them about it at all but they will know as when you put in your SIM card into the Storm you will have to log onto the O2 bis website and change devices.
Basically you could have any number of berrys,all you have to do is go into the option ,change device on the site and input the new phone that you will be usings pin number and imei number which you can find in the options screen on the berry and go to status.
Once you have entered the pin and imei numbers resend the service books from the site also and you are good to go.All and all takes about 2 minutes to do and you will receive an e mail saying you have been registered with the blackberry server.

what about if you had a different o2 handset on contract. and you were changing to a blackberry?

you could use the blackberry as long as you had the BIS service attached to your account. you could use it anyway but without the blackberry services, which is what you really want a blackberry for!
