    Verizon Wireless Axing Alltel Vets
Yesterday, 10:17 AM by Eric M. Zeman

Verizon Wireless plans to eliminate many of the management positions, including finance, marketing and legal, at the former Alltel's headquarters in Little Rock. The positions became redundant with Verizon's purchase of Alltel in 2008. Verizon didn't say exactly how many positions were being eliminated, but said the affected employees are welcome to apply for other jobs in the Little Rock facility, including call center positions.

    More Info

Also the cuts announced by Sprint and now Nokia, it appears the wireless industry is not going to help any economic recovery anytime soon.

I don't think this means that the company is doing bad. I think it's a good business decision, no point in having two managers for the same department.

Yeah i'm sure this looks bad to the public because that what the media does but in reality they probably will be moving around inside the company as much as they can not just telling these people to bounce out.
