Does Consume Cellular even offer BIS service? Personally I never heard of the company until now. If you don't have BIS servic ec you load all the service books in the world and it wont really make a difference.
This is what I know,, But how do I use it? or where on the 9780 BB, do I type these in??
1. Configure your phone to work with the Connect! service. Each phone is different, so you will need to refer to your phone’s user manual to find out how to change the following settings:
Service Name MMS Web
Proxy Address proxy.mvno.ccmobileweb.com <blank>
Proxy Port 80 <blank>
Proxy Push Disabled Enabled
Authentication Type Secure Secure
Username (CSD/GPRS) <blank> <blank>
Password (CSD/GPRS) <blank> <blank>
GPRS access point att.mvno att.mvno
Homepage http://mmsc.cingular.com http://mmsc.cingular.com
I am using an unlocked 9000 on CC and had the same problem. I am also a newbie so this was a shot in the dark. I downloaded and installed another browser, Opera Mini, and went right into CC web without any other configuration or problem. My TCP/IP was set at APN enabled, APN authentication enabled and APN:, Username, and Password left blank but that is how it was set before I did this. MMS however still doesn't work.
I am a major Consumer Cellular fan, but getting data to work can be tricky.
First be sure data is enabled at their site. Even though you subscribed, its off by default.
Second, be sure that att.mvno + no user or passowrd is entered in /options/advanced options/TCP.
This will get you data. THings like google maps, etc will work, bu the Blackberry Browser will not. To get this to work, use the hack from here: Enable (hack) BlackBerry Browser without BIS/BES ~ Hacking Unlocked
Finally, you may need a battery pull.
Hi,
I am trying to get web access on a Blackberry Torch, and I have already posted my own thread under the Torch 9800 model heading.
I have already set the fields as required in /options/device/advanced system settings/TCP IP
But I still do not have access to Internet. I was able to also follow the hack listed above to restore legacy SB, but the file download did not work (presumably because Internet isnot accessible yet.)
Any insights into what else may be needed?
It appears to be deceptive not to mention Blackberry as excluded for your claim of "any unlocked GSM phone" being able to access data on CC. I am currently out over $60 because I believed your advertisements.
Who are you responding too, and as this thread is over a year old dead and even my initial comment was well over 2 years ago, the likely hood that the others coming back is pretty slim.
Hi. You may put this down to either senility or stupidity. I ordered a BB to use on Concumer Cellular according to their claim. Now I find it won't work. I suppose I'm really mad at myself. Thanks for your forebearance.
I wouldn't put it down to either, it was lack of information, and not knowing what will work where and how.
Does anybody use a Z30 on Consumer Cellular?
Consumer Cellular now works fine.
In order to get text messaging to work, I had to call them and give them the IMEI.
This is an Unlocked STA100-5 Z30
Here are the APN and SMS/MMS settings.

I have two Passports on an account with them. Data is LTE, Voice is great, SMS is fine. MMS now works, although pictures are delayed sometimes.
I just tested MMS a few minutes ago between ClassicSQC100-3/10.3.1.2726 on VZW with my passport running 10.3.2.500 and it worked fine.
