I called verizon recently because my internet went out, waited for 15 minutes to have the representative tell me there's a complete nationwide outage. Most phones 1XEV should go to 1xev soon if not already(my dads says 1XEV, but still doesn't work.) This is VERIZON ONLY. There may be others that are out but this is all that I know of.

If there is any other carriers please do post here.

Yeah so I noticed. I haven't got any e-mails since about 5:30pm, its now 9:38PM and also no internet.

i'm stuck on 1xev on sprint, in Texas since about 4pCST. no luck yet, but i haven't called CS cuz I'm pretty sure I know what they are gonna say.

This may be silly, but i've seen no 1XEV or 1xev on my BB. I only know that where my bars typically are, it's said "OFF" for about an hour.

It'd be really helpful if I had at least texts for my holiday travels tomorrow...

You got your radio disabled there. Go to Manage Connections> Restore All Conenctions. Only phone calls and text messaging is working right now. If verizon was completely wiped down you would see x not off.

I didn't realize that BlackBerry was so unreliable. Here I am thinking that since our company management used these phones - they were the phones to have. Does HTC or Palm have better service ?

Yep, as of 9PM in eastern Iowa, 1xev, no Browser, and no packets going through on TetherBerry either. I suspect it's probably the same problem affecting BBWeather and Viigo. At least Bolt and Opera still work!

Blackberries connect through Verizon to RIM servers. Right now, there's a RIM outage, not a Verizon outage.

HTC and Palm connect directly to the internet through Verizon. Their phones would be working perfectly normally right now.
