imei is the identification of the phone a bit like a chassis no. on a car now if you give your imei no. out then there could be a chance your phone can be cloned i.e copied ! so if someone else has the same phone thats been stolen the imei no. can be transferred to the stolen phone its obviously highly illegal but there are some dodgy people out there who can do this

I put in my IMEI number and my carrier and it said it can unlock for $8.99. That's pretty good price considering others want $39.99. Is this site legit? It didn't ask for PRD number

Here is the screen shot of what it asks me to type in. After I pressed submit, I got an email saying that your phone can be unlocked. Then I press submit again and it being me to the screen showing the price and asking for payment details. It never asks me for PRD Number, just my IMEI number.
