Does T-Mobile care?

On the negative side, customer posting on the T-Mobile support forums has dried up.

In the positive column, T-Mobile is still updating support documentation for the BB10 and legacy BlackBerry models. I saw a long string of updates just the other day.

My gut is T-Mobile sees no urgency to sell BlackBerry.

Me, i bought T-Mobile branded BlackBerrys for 10+ years. Now I'm using a Passport and don't see buying a branded BlackBerry again, and I don't see that as a problem. Fortunately wifi calling, the only thing I'm missing, isn't a big deal for me.

I read a article the other day that identified the T-Mobile devices that have band 12 now, or the list may have included announced as well. It wasn't a long list. Five or six?

Anyway, I'm betting when band 12 is in wide use BlackBerry will have another multiband model that supports it. At any rate, it will be one BlackBerry at a time. Carrier? Who knows.

I think T-Mobile cares. Money is money and whatever they can do to make it is on their radar. Whether sales to existing customers or new contracts. But the revenue is not from the device, but the service contracts agreed to when they get the device. I would think it's obvious that they do not/could not advertise for a device Chen said they cannot currently get for sale. It also seems obvious to me that if they currently have access to sell iPhones and that's their money maker, then that's where their advertising dollars would go. It makes sense.

It doesn't make sense to promote a WiFi feature on current devices they probably only have 10k left for insurance exchanges. LoL

In the video clip, the question was posed to Chen because the question was first posed to Legere and Legere said he'd be up for getting BlackBerry back. Basically, Legere said "sure" and now Chen has said "sure".

How can they care about BlackBerry when they're not allowed to sell BlackBerry anymore? Sure, they did an ill advised advertising flyer to BlackBerry users but it was BlackBerry that pulled the license for T-Mobile to sell BlackBerry's. A new contract needs to be struck.

They pushing Wi-Fi Calling for all new devices, as a part of UnCarrier 7.0, not just for iPhones.

The Z30, which uses the Paratek antenna tuner, doesn't seem to support more bands than the older Bb10 phones, though it could be a software issue. The leak I am running added another band to my Z10, though not useful unless I am going to Japan.

This is actually a great interview. Legere comes across as personable and knowledgeable (other than the "megabit" misspeaks). The end of the interview, 29:40, is about BlackBerry.

Since they came to the iPhone late, they have some sales volume commitment like Sprint does. Apple doesn't let you carry the iPhone just to keep your customers from bleeding off to other carriers. They make you push it. No fliers go out encouraging you to trade in your iPhone for some other brand.

Potty mouth is right, but that's what makes him appear personable. There's no reserved decorum because he's a CEO. The porn joke was very much in line with that.

He answered Pogue's questions directly and laid out the plans for T-Mobile.

I had to laugh at Legere claiming the Sprint ad campaign "give the gift of data" as the impetus for the "data stash" program.

He said earlier that it was due to the number of tweets from customers.

What's amazing to me is that he asked for zip codes from customers who had service issues and said he'd personally respond or his "care team" would. People were enamored when Steve Jobs randomly answered an email or two personally and here's a CEO that monitors his Twitter feed and actually pays attention to what is said! How more direct can you get than that? That, in my book, is personable.

I saw somewhere (of course now I can't recall where...) that Canadians had auctioned off spectrum that fit both bands 12 and 17 (the latter's frequency range, as you probably know, is a subset of the former's.) AFAIK, so far, Bell and Rogers have rolled out b17 networks only.
