Sorry guys I haven't been on in a bit but.... A store manager from Csouth here in Flowood came into store where i work last Saturday using the 9630 Tour. He said that he had just got it that morning from corporate and that they will be rolling out sometime in September company wide. When he let me see the phone it looks and feels really solid, and a lot of the bug and quirks that Verizon have, he said haven't shown up yet their OS version (4.7.???). So maybe we all can upgrade next month.
Sounds good but I can't upgrade til the end of February. By then they should get all the kinks out of it and I can get opinions on how much I should or shouldn't get it.
No new news on my end except more frustration in not having the device, but if it means no "verizon issues, trackball issues, etc" I guess it's okay to wait BUT not too long.
I am just wondering but after looking at the link above on comparing the bold and the tour I noticed that it does not list the tour has having Wi-Fi but I have read in some post where it talks about it having Wi-Fi. Can someone clear this up for me and if it does have Wi-Fi would I be able to use it offshore where I dont have any service but we do have a public Wi-Fi. We also has our own server on board.
Well I talked to the smart phone specialist here in Vicksburg. I trust this woman 100%. She has the Tour now,and told me that the tour is due to be released to customers by about mid Sept. Like has been stated before on the form. I am so ready to get the Tour.

I got this from someone that I know and is very reputable.
"You are correct, each store has received one Tour for testing. You should be able to stop by to look at it if you like. I think that we are still at least 3-4 weeks away from launch."
So Kyle, Putting 9630 in the profile is wishful thinking for a couple more weeks or are you holding out on us. Maybe it's that Vulcan Mind trick.............
I got to put my hands on a cellular south tour today. It left a pretty good impression on me, the display is amazing! My reliable source told me late September or early October. He mentioned that the recent development and release of the netbooks slowed down progress on the tour.

It is nice, but no release date as of yet. Then factor in a while before CS even begins to look at it. I am guessing you could get your Tour and be almost at upgrade time again before the Essex comes out for us.
We may eventually see it at CS, but until Verizon/Sprint or some other major US CDMA carrier has it I doubt we will hear mention of it. In any case, it would probably be 6-8 months after the initial release that CS would look into getting it.

Its still a ways out....but this is exactly why I keep two accounts with Cell South....then again I've been known to buy at full retail if need be. all for the love of blackberry. I'm really hoping they surprise us with a September 1 release.......
