- I am Tour owner, got mine on 10-31. Use to be a pearl owner. I have a few questions. I don't know if it has been brought up yet but will csouth ever post an official update for the os for the Tour or should I just go with one of these hybrids. And why does the Tour take so long to start up. My pearl took about half the time. Overall, its a great update from the pearl.11-20-09 02:24 PMLike 0

and your done...
on a different note..
I left the curve, went to the Hero, and now back with a Tour.. at this point the only thing that keeps me from leaving bberry is the bbm. The speed is horrible, especially going to the net. To me it seems this tour is slower than my curve was. GPS is a joke, it does not compare to Hero's gps.. and yes I was using google maps. Am i missing something on the gps and browsing speed?11-23-09 09:23 AMLike 0 - Went into the store Friday afternoon and they sales reps knew what the problem was immediately.. Just hit the phone (green button) > options > smart dialing > country code +1 > National Number > Use "1" Yes > Local Country Code "United State (1)

do your gps settings look like this?
and your data is faster on the tour because its EVDO Rev A, the curve is EVDO rev 011-23-09 09:56 AMLike 0 -
- If your runnin google maps and want your exact gps location you have to run BlackBerry maps first, let it lock on and then launch google maps

- If its 1xev your having problems with your data if you have 1XEV you should be ok. And that's just how google maps works.

However friday night I was trying to call my wife from my contacts and kept getting a fast busy signal. I tried several other contacts and got the same result. I tried manually dialing the number and it connected just fine. I figured something must have gotten screwed up going from my curve to the tour and then on to OS 5.0. Anyway after following the above suggestion my contacts phone numbers work now. Specifically it was my country code that was set to +60. Have to wonder with all these messed up setting was RIM just trying to keep us busy? LOL!!!11-23-09 05:05 PMLike 0 -
- since your in brandon and should have good service, you may want to drop by the local store when you can and ask. My browsing speed is quite nice as well as all the other tour owners on here11-24-09 09:25 AMLike 0
- I'm not sure if this fixed out texting issue or not. I didn't try to send a text before making the change. But after trying it I put back the settings and still could text.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com11-24-09 04:20 PMLike 0 - I changed from the 8830 WE, but the only difference between Tour and curve are more memory for apps, faster performance, the internet is a lot faster because the tour is has the newer EVDO technology, and the. 3.2MP camera and the screen is high resolution...
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com11-24-09 04:25 PMLike 0 - I paid full price for my 8330 and if I hadn't been due for my contract renewal I would have paid full price for my 9630.11-24-09 04:31 PMLike 0
- I think its just a 5.0 thing. I used it for a little bit but it got annoying
