I know that Boost and Sprint work on the same network when it comes to the newly released Boost Mobile 8330m that just got released. My question is this, is it at all possible to take a boost phone to use on a sprint account? If I want to add a line to my sprint account may I buy a boost 8330m to use on my account? Even better, can I buy an 8330m blackberry as a back up in the unfortunate event that I lose my 9630 Tour?

I don't think you would be able to do that, even though both are the same technology and same network, they are separate entities and the curve 8330m from Boost will not be activated under Sprint.

Interesting question. People have been using Sprint Blackberrys on Boost for a while now (not officially supported but possible), and now that Boost has a Blackberry will it work the other way around? I would check howardforums.com since that is where all the info is on how to get Sprint Berries on Boost. If you're going to find the info you're looking for anywhere it would be there first.

I'm not sure if it would work out or not, but I'm curious why you would do that if you are adding a line? Why not just get the phone at a discount since you're signing a contract to add a line? The Boost one is $250 and I've seen it free for Sprint with new contract. Just a thought

^^ What he said. You could get an 8520 at your local RadioShack for 29 bucks since you're adding a line. Why pay 250 for a Boost curve??

I don't believe interchanging the boost and sprint phones are possible because Sprint doesn't use sim cards and boost mobile does.

Boost also has a CDMA network which Piggy Backs of of Sprints Network....This would be interesting to see if they did allow it to be used....doubt it though

even if sprint tells you they don't officially allow boostberries, you may be able to use the backdoor trick that boost users have been using to get sprintberries on the boost network. the trick is to already have an active account with a carrier approved phone, then call and say your phone was damaged and that you want to swap phones. sometimes the csr rep takes the esn, sometimes they don't. even though it's a hit and miss thing using a sprint bb on boost, it may work the other way around.

Tater. Do you think it is possible to do this though the online activation program? sprint.com/activate

Also, tater. how is the boostberry working out? Is it fully functional? GPS, BBM, etc.?

I am not sure about the online activation system! Could give it a try! As for calling in to activate just say you want to do a phone swap or add a line but you already have the phone! Give them the ESN and your on your way!!

As far as it working I have had no problems! BBM works perfect! I have not yet tried GPS but I will give it a shot and let you know!!

Unfortunately no, Sprint/Boost will not allow non Sprint/Boost ESNs on their network. This has been proven by many members at howardforums. You would have to get the Sprint Tour.

It sucks, but you can do this online for most every phone EXCEPT blackberry You need to call in to do a BB ESN swap.

I've done it from one 9630 to another 9630 before..is that the same?

You went from a sprint bb to a sprint bb, I'm talking about swapping to a phone from a different carrier. I don't know 100% for going from boost to sprint, but I know for a fact if you try to get a sprint berry on the boost network it cannot be done online, only over the phone. I'm assuming it works the same the other way around, but I would love to be proven wrong.
