So I was number 2 online to pick up my bold 9700 at an "ATT" store in fort lauderdale sunday (22nov)..and paid 299.00 less 100.00 mir.. so final price was 199.00

monday (23nov) traveled to NJ to visit familyand I walk into an "ATT" store in freehold NJ and price on the phone was 149.00 less 100.00 mir final cost was 49.00.. A printed price tag...(like it came from corporate headquaters)

the people in the store were very nice and tried real hard to get a credit .. but I would have had to exchange the phone. and they did not have any new bold 9700`s...

the store documented my account and I called customer service and explained the situation.. customer service read the account info and said no problem.. they did not even put me on hold they said "we will credit your account 155.00 "...

I was very satisfied the way this matter was handled .. but not pleased that different states have different prices..

    LOVE THE PHONE TOO

That's called cost of living. It's that way on everything, not just phones. But that is a **** of a deal for $49. Congrats

I'm one of the ones who prefers the size of my 9000, but for that price I might be tempted.

I called customer service and reported hearing about other people getting the phone for $50 when I paid $250 (before $100 rebate). It took a few calls but I got the credit plus I was able to get them to honor the Upgrade Advantage discount is I effectively got the phone for free

Newegg's cell phone store is running an AT&T promo now for free phones, including the Bold 9700!

Thats too bad. Hopefully you'll get some of your money back. I waited until this week and got my 9700 for free from Wirefly.com. Its great phone.

I have been an AT&T Wireless customer since 1987 (never switched carriers through all of their acquisitions/mergers - Cellular 1, AT&T, Cingular, AT&T again) but I can not provoke them to move up my "upgrade eligible" date by a couple of months.

I am buying mine tomorrow and I am soooo glad I read this thread. I thought I was getting a deal at $99 after rebate. But it looks like I will get it for less. Thanks.

That's my local store! They just redid it, its beautiful. As much as I go in there, they're always helpful. Im shocked they did that for you though. Congrats

Yes, AT&T has usually always been very helpful to me. However, I dont always find the best price on a new phone at the AT&T store. The AT&T store has the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for $199.00 after a $100 mail in rebate however, I ordred my new 9700 from Crackberry for FREE. I onl had to pay for the $7.99 shipping and the 9700 comes with a FREE 2 GB memory card.
