Comes from being 'last week's model' with Rogers.

What isn't posted quite so obviously in stores and online however is the minimum Plan one has to agree to for this price.

only for new customers and minimun plan of 45 with data, 9000 still costs more outright than the 9700

That's what I don't get. I'm STILL on the fence on whether to buy a 9700 outright. For what is being offered, one would assume that it'd be $649 or higher -- unless they plan on hiking the price of it later?

Well, I just upgraded my Curve 8310 to the Bold 9000 for the $99 price so I don't think it is only for new customers. I was able to keep my old voice/data plans (6gb for $30) and simply add the Bold.

I just hardware upgrade to Bold 9000 with Rogers two weeks ago for the cost of $349.99 with $50 mail-in rebate. I think I got ripped off! Any chance does anyone know if they offer any price protection so I can get some money back since they are selling it for only $99? (My phone is over 30 minutes talk time now). Anyone help would be appreciate. Thanks in advance!

I called in today and they give me $10 credit for 3 months then $5 off for 12 months. Equal to $90 off in total. This is the deal they give me after i complaint about the price drop. (the rep said the best they can do is offer $100 credit over a period of time).
