My guys, I seem to be experiencing a RAM issue on my z10 slt 100-1 OS 10.2.1.2141. The partition of ram taken my 'system' is expanding too fast. It went from 300mb average and now it's hitting 550mb and rising which is a bit too much. What should I do?

Do you perhaps use the Android Runtime a fair amount? That seems to run that up...I have the same issue but it doesn't bug me because the Memory management is actually very good. I don't want too much of the RAM being neglected.

Grab the free app "task killer" from Blackberry world or task manager.
It will force close all android processes. I find that the Blackberry device monitor does not show any android processes running but instead groups it under "system". It very hard to close those from the device monitor.

In task killer press and run the "kill it" option a few times. It may freeze your phone but it will be fine as soon as the basic system processes start again.

I downloaded both of these and to be fair I'm not sure if they're legit. I ran task manager and killed all android apps and it revealed the freed up memory at the top. I then ran the task killer app and it shows all the same apps I just killed from the last program are active again. Why the conflict?

The task killer app does not show a list of processes running. Not sure where you are seeing that. When opened there is a dialogue box that gives 2 options, "kill it" or "quit".

Task manager shows a list of what android processes running and you can select each one to end them.

They are completely legit. They're the best way to end android processes. I usually will check task manager to see what's running and manually stop them there. I will then for good measure run task killer to make sure they're completely stopped. I'm running this from a z30.

What I meant was android games that were killed by one and vanished from the list showed to be running again in the other app.

The first screen shot is of task manager. Here you see the list of what android apps or processes are running. They can be stopped one by one.

The second screen shot shows task killer. Doesn't provide a list of apps or processes running.

I may not be understanding completely where you're seeing this list and in what app.

I run the first app as seen in your screenshot. The unwanted android apps then vanish from the list and the freed memory increases. Then I run the other app and it shows the processes are still active. So I'm speaking of a conflict. Are these apps even closing anything or just hiding them from their list. I'll reboot my phone and try again in future.

Thanks guys. I ran both apps, checked my device manager and system memory has backed down, thou not that much..I'm considering doing an OS reload just to make sure cause I run quite a lot of android apps. May do a wipe and re-install the ones I need.
