Hey guys. I tried searching for this topic but there are some kinks in my situation that make it hard to just search. I am on Verizon Wireless 4GLTE network with 11Gig shared between my wife, who has an android based device. I am finding my data is sacked very fast on my side of the plan. I have a few games like Magic Realms, Chasing Yellow, Beach Buggy Blitz, Dungeon Hunter 4. I use mainly the Web browser for research mainly, the Facebook app native to blackberry, CB10 and BBM. I use YouTube infrequently. I have used approximately 6 gigs in 13 days.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you look in App Manager to see what is using all your data - maybe PIM services?? Ned to check all your apps to see what is doing the most sucking of data.

I have heard the Facebook app sucks up data with its constant update requests. Also, are you near a Wi-Fi, in your home possibly? If so, have your device connect to Wi-Fi (secured I hope) when in range. I had the same issue and even got some nasty text messages form VZW about going over the limit - as soon as I changed to use Wi-Fi when at home, data usage dropped like a stone.

For example, for last 48 hours, my Wi-Fi usage is 52 MB DL and 5.7 MB UP, while Mobile Data usage is 989KB DL and 210 KB UL.

From what I can see BBM has used about 500 mb. That seems to be the most drainage on data as far as I can tell. Facebook only has used really 50mb. Location services are turned off and other than that I'm flabbergasted. I unfortunately do not have wife available to me.

No "wife" - sorry about that - just kidding I got what you mean.

How many contacts do you have in BBM and what are your settings? Also, what OS are you running?

5 contacts and 2 groups. Settings I believe are defaulted. OS is 10.2.1.2122

Do you have BBM open in active frame all the time? Also, are subscribed to and BBM Channels?

BBM is in background when I chat sometimes. I am on BBM channels...I think 6.

OK, when you say " in the background" for BBM, are you referring to the actual BBM app that is on your Home screen and is open with the Channels as well, or are you viewing BBM's through your HUB notification? I ask because I also have many contacts in BBM, as well as subscribed to 16 channels (one of which is completely off the chain at this moment...) and I find that when I am only using the HUB notification and not the native BBM app that stays open, my memory usage for BBM drops significantly (as well as the massive battery drain),

Sounds like its the native BBM app. Let me do some more digging and I will get back to you - maybe tomorrow though...

Do you have Evernote synching (either app or with Remember)? I remember someone encountering an error with Evernote synching in which it just kept cycling indefinitely.

Also what about Facebook or any of the cloud storage auto-synch apps (Box, Dropbox, One drive).

I don't even use Evernote or any of the above mentioned apps besides Facebook. When I checked the app it isn't draining a lot of my data. I'm going to peek into that thread.

Highest mobile usage in 48 hours is BBM and Browser. Everything else pales in comparison. No usage on Evernote, Box, Dropbox or those types of apps.
