BlackBerry Torch 9860 Spotted With Sprint Branding Sprintfeed

Were already quite certain that the BlackBerry Torch 9860 will be hitting the Now Network, but more evidence never hurts. This time we see the Torch with some Sprint branded wallpaper. I know what youre thinking, how hard would it be to just change the wallpaper? Thats true, it would be easy to load up a Sprint wallpaper on any ol BlackBerry, but if you look a little closer youll notice the Activation Required message at the top of the screen. Thats a pretty good indicator that were looking at a CDMA device.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a BB OS 7 device. It comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz processor, 3.7″ touchscreen, slide-out portrait keyboard, 5MP camera, and an NFC chip. The hardware is a nice upgrade to the first Torch, but the software doesnt add much. RIM is in desperate need of some dual-core QNX beast phones to rejuvenate their stale lineup.

slide out keyboard, is that a mistake? this phone looks to belong in the storm family.

@bigmo164 RIM dropped the Storm moniker after the "wonderful" success they had with the S1 and S2.
There is a letter from RIM execs that states they will no longer be using the storm line and all devices from this point forward with a touch screen will be part of the torch family.

Ok, got ya. But looking at the picture, it does not appear to have a slideout keyboard. Maybe it's just the angle. In any event, thanks for the info

Yea it doesn't have a physical keyboard. RIM will be releasing the Torch 2 in a CDMA version on sprint as well. So if you want a physical keyboard with the touch screen the 9900 or the torch 2 will be your best bet.

Keep in mind, wallpaper does not equal branding.

@Jared this is very true, but I do know that the activation required message is specific to CDMA devices, and personally if i was on Verizon or some one else the Sprint wallpaper would not be something i would have on my phone.
