Just called Tmo customer service... I told the friendly CSR that I would be traveling out of the country. I asked her if a subsidy unlock code was something she could help me with and she said yes. She asked for my IMEI and email address and there you have it... Easy peasy! Thanks OP!

Looks like you guys know the answers, but I don't understand your lingo! Sorry. Can someone kindly explain?

I own a 8330 from Verizon, but have relocated to Asia and would like to unlock the phone so I can use a local SIM. There is no SIM with this phone....so how do I go about unlocking, please??

The 8330 is a CDMA-only phone and can't accept a SIM card. It will not work on GSM networks so it is pointless even trying to unlock it.

I bought an unlock code from ebay for less than $4 and it worked fine. My question is... I did the Registration on ATT's site for the Service Books (Options->Advanced Options->Host Routing Table->Register Now)

How long does this take to become active?

    Hello
Not sure if I am posting at the right thread but I need help. I
My daughter just paid about AUD600 for BB curve 8900(Vodafone) without plan to replace her broken BB. Her existing plan is with 3. It has been a week since she called Vodafone for the unlock code. (provided them with imei) Would they ever call? How else can she unlock the phone?

I purchased an AT&T 8300 and went to GSM PhoneSource.com for the unlock code. He charges $19 USD and has the unlock code to you in a matter of hours. I have used his service on several occassions and he is very trustworthy and reliable.

When I received my unlock code, I powered up the Curve with NO SIM installed.

    Cingular / AT&T Curve, 8300, 8800

Can be done without a sim card inserted

    1. go to settings

    2 go to options

    3. go to advanced options

    4. go to sim card

    5. Hold the ALT Key while typing in MEPE ( not case sensitive ) ( you will not see text appear on screen while typing )

    6. It will say "Enter Network MEP Code, then you type in the unlock code, press in the trackball to confirm

    7. Your phone is now unlocked

    Hope this helps
This where the same instructions given to me today to unlock my att 8310 no sim in it and presto unlocked nice work done here. want to unlock ur phone get a code it works lol

I just got a BB 8310 and was able to get the unlock code from AT&T thanks to all the good info on this site.

The question is I don't have the SIM card and am not sure if the phone is unlocked. How can I tell if the phone is unlocked???

    Thanks for all your help!!!

Yes...its that simple. Just enter the code that you receive and that's it. You will need a Cingular (or ATT) SIM card in order to bring up the menu. I have them available if you need one.
i think i need one can you give me it
