Bell goes Big Brother, will track customers’ web history, viewing, calls, mobile usage

Anyone else greatly disturbed over this? I've called Bell and they have very few answers as to my options since this is not the terms I agreed to when I signed up. I currently have an email into the privacy department, waiting for a reply.
I've already "opted-out" of the targeted ads, but in my opinion they should be "opt-in" if you want, "opt-out" by default.

Consider the possibility that the only thing that has changed is that they are now publicly admitting this.

I thought it was kind of hilarious that they mentioned "tracking when you make phone calls". Of COURSE they track that, it's all printed out in your bill. (Well at least it is on a lot of other mobile services companies. I'm not a Bell customer nor a Canadian resident.)

They already have all this information, they will just use it now to push more publicity down our throat.

More so the Web tracking, both on mobile and at home.

Between the NSA, Google and now Bell, I think we can put to rest any notion of privacy now, lol

I feel like I should live in London, with all its cameras deployed everywhere. That would complete things.

Apparently there is a way to opt out of this, any word on how to do that?

Yes there is a website for it, can't remember what it is right now, or you can do it in your "mybell" self serve. But this only opts out of receiving the targeted ads, they still collect all the data the same.

Is it possible to cancel the Bell contracts without charges based on this?

Hey, I just remembered that there was a notice on the Internet bill that they will be rising the prices as well on November 1st, 2013 (total amount 7.49 from all the services). Did you get the same message?

By the way, can I use that to cancel without charges?
