Yep, the Tour has been discontinued a few days ago and I confirmed it with some Bell reps. Surprisingly, the Pearl or the Storm hasn't been discontinued yet.

Cause we all know reps are a valuable resource of information...

Lemme guess they were told to sell through their stock huh?

Why is the Tour still readily available EVERYWHERE on Bell if this is the case?

    Shenanigans.

    This is true.

Effective October 19, 2009, be advised that:

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 Smartphone is nearing the end of its lifecycle and limited quantities are available.

Yep, it's true. While RIM will continue to support the Tour and all, it is in fact in End of life and won't be carried by Bell for much longer.

Reason being is that Bell is trying to focus on HSPA now and having the 9000 and 9700 available at launch, it does not make sense pushing the Tour when one can go for the Bold/Bold2 (much better device; wifi, hspa compatible, etc.) for a similiar price...

just to step in here as a rep and can confirm seeing the notice to all bell reps that the tour is now on the end of life list, not yet though but it will be completely weeded out soon. Nothing on storm which is weird.

There's not even anything on the 8330, which I find ever weirder.

Bell has moved to HPSA, so cdma devices are going to go the wayside. The 9700 is a big reason and RIM I am sure is gearing to the Essex for future delivery. Bell might get it, but I doubt it as their focus has changed.
