I went looking in WIND stores for a Leap for my wife a couple of weeks ago and not a single store I went in had one in stock or on display. One store said they would bring it in but said they would only do so if I got a new plan with it as well.

Just took a peek at ShopBlackberry.ca and the Leap is $279 unlocked, WIND charges $30 to unlock their devices. Even with shipping the SBB device is better value for money especially when you consider all updates are pushed directly from BlackBerry.

    Thanks for the info anyway.

I am patiently waiting for a BB sale and it's arrived. Looking at a Classic but was hoping for a slightly better deal.

Maybe I will wait till a Thanksgiving or Boxing Day sale comes around.

I would LOVE a blue Classic but no way to get it from a carrier!

I thought wind needed a specific model to work with their system. I remember asking them about a year ago if my unlocked Q10 would work and was told it wouldnt. Maybe something has changed since then or they were just trying to sell me a phone

BlackBerry have reduced the models available for a single device, most now are single models (all of their current devices will work on all Canadian carriers including WIND). I purchased my Passport and Leap from them with no issues at all. Best of all my updates are pushed directly from BlackBerry's servers meaning I get updates light years ahead of WIND.

Go to redflagdeals.com, join as a memebr then type in blackberry model you want onbhot deals form. There is a BlackBerry employee with discount codes for devices direct from BlackBerry. Huge savings, I got my new passport se for $150 less than Web price. He was selling z30 and q5 for $100 to $200 shipped.

Hope he didn't get nabbed by BlackBerry or the mods, as that would suck!

But that's awesome in all regards.

That's outright. I've not seem the Classic any lower than that before, the Leap is still cheaper to get from Shop BlackBerry.

People I've spoken to suggest it's too expensive for their line up, but who knows? WIND has a habit of doing things you least expect.

Probably not but the news I've been hearing is that the Priv will be compatible with all Canadian networks including Wind. If true you can buy it from Shopblackberry and use it on the Wind network. Fingers crossed
