before Christmas when I got this Bold 9900 unlocked, I put the sim card in it from my iphone and within an hour I got a Rogers email saying something about changes to my plan. I phoned them and they assured me that simply changing a sim into another device shouldnt effect anything.

Anyway the Rogers guy told me it could have something to do with the fact my 2 year plan expires in March, and he hinted there MIGHT be another $8 charge if I go "month to month" which is what I want to do, with no contract but I was told that if I do not make any changes after contract that I can keep going with what I have and it SHOULD be for the same price.

anyone else ever get an email like that from Rogers near the end of contract OR if you simply swapped the Sim card into another device??

In the past when i switched a sim from my 9900 to the iphone 4 (lol) I was told my plan would change from blackberry data to normal smartphone data

this is because blackberry was using BIS for data at that time.

It might have to do with Rogers recently eliminating the BYOD discount on plans. Now they treat it as though you've got a new device on a 2 year. That or I've misunderstood your situation.
