Sorry to hear this. I had an upgrade last wednesday, and was thinking about whether to order my 9700 online or make the 20 mi. round trip to the local AT&T store. Now Im glad I made the trip. BTW, you are going to absolutely love this 9700. I had an 8900 and a couple of 9000s before this.

I noticed the price went up from $99 (after mail in rebate) to $199. Any idea if they'll drop it down to $99 w/rebate again?

I love my 9700. I had the 8310 (w/o a data plan mind you..) and it was pretty much meh to me. Ive never been so in love with a technology as I am with this phone, I have nothing to complain about as when I hit a snag I just come on here and fix the problem. : )

I have the 9000, but have been looking hard at the 9700. Currently I have an 8310 as a back up. Lol. Should sell the 8310 and then my 9000. Would yave enough to grab the 9700. Hmmm

I got mine through Radio Shack for $50 but with all the problems with the upgrade (messed up my service agreement) I am not sure the savings are worth it. Everything is happy now though. Love it.

Wal Mart and At&t phones proved to be a great value. Two year upgrade to the 9700 was 78 bucks!

I've only had my 8900 a couple months. I got it because I wasn't particularily interested in getting a 3G phone because where I live we don't have 3G.

Well, today I went into the AT&T store to get a new charger because mine is broken, and I found out that "soon" we'll be getting 3G. He also made it sound like they were testing it and going straight to the 7.2. This is all "speculation" of course because he didn't want to say anything official, but that gives me hope that around the end of this year when I'll be looking to get a new phone, that I can look towards a 3G phone, whether we have the 3G network up and running by then or not.
