To be honest... I haven't heard of this problem...
I've had a Tour for some time now, though I have been updating it with leaked OS versions (not supported by Verizon), and have had no issues with any alerts with any contacts, even when holstered. I didn't even know that this was a known issue, and haven't heard anything about it. That's not to say that there isn't a known issue, but I just haven't run into it yet.
Have you tried re-loading the OS?
You're running a beta. That's why you haven't ran into this issue. And Blackberry stated in their email that the issue I'm having with the .61 software will be fixed in a future update. The issue is specific to this particular OS version. At this point I'd be very content with another OS 5 leak. I tried .230 in the past, but the glitches in the bluetooth functions were a dealbreaker for me.
