Think of batching like a post office hit with a blizzard, they cannot send out every piece of email if they do not have the resources to in an outage, so they send out buckets of mail at a time to at least give you something to read while they are in "surgery" ;). Like now i see my mailbox has 1700, i just got 400 10 minutes ago and they stopped, so you have to have patience.
Phoned Verizon.....According to Verizon rep, RIM's host server went down. When I asked for an estimated time for correction, RIM had not provided Verizon with one.
Just got a couple of emails from various times this morning... looks liek they are starting to come in...
this is actually the first problem i've had with email on my BB (that wasn't caused by my company's server) and I've had it for about a year...
Not only did I just receive 20 emails....but all the timestamp on the emails are 10:02am.....gg rimm
After initial flood, no more inbound emails or service books.
just had a flood of emails come through, hope it stays up. Phoenix, AZ..TMO
Just dont worry about service books yet, or calling the carrier, or blending your bb with a blender, it will all come around.
P.S. The blender part sounds sad :(
Every couple of months Iphone guys are in their glory! For once an Iphone beats out a Blackberry! and only because of technical difficulties!
Now that emails coming back, throw your Iphony in the bay and get a real smartphone... :p
Since the outage includes BIS-NA it also includes the complete country of the Dominican Republic. I can confirm this for Claro and Orange customers.
The time stamp on the message listing screen is the time your BB received it. Open one of them and there will be a different time stamp that reflects when the item was actually sent.
at&t in the nyc burbs. just got my first email...and only one. i think we can all say we've gotten a rim job. *ahem*
So far have a bunch that came through. We'll see if it keeps coming.
I heard their NOT coming through in Brooklyn though! :p
Nothing here in northern NJ. Verizon service.
Edit: Just as soon as I posted this.. I got a few e-mails and facebook app seems to be okay. Still getting the failed to download the requested image problem though. Anyone figure that out?
Yeah, with an anticlimatic happy ending...just kinda tilt your head and say..."Yeah...it was ok"
I'm good to go now...got a flurry about 30 min ago and all of that vibrating irritated my life...
I'm in Newark, Delaware, on Verizon, and I haven't received anything since 3 am. I can't send or receive e-mail. I can browse the internet and send/receive texts just fine though.
VZW customer here in NY, haven't gotten any e-mails except a lonely little one about an hour ago. I'm expecting about 150 e-mails, so I guess they're slow getting NY back up. :(
This is ridiculous and unacceptable. No email here in Coastal Oregon.
Emails are streaming in steadily now, Minneapolis suburbs, Verizon. I'm happy. :) I never realized until today what a BB addict I was. :(
Also, what are these service books that I hear you all talking about sending?
Ugh I'm in the same boat - nothing yet on Rogers-Toronto.
I did the same thing thinking it was me. Had to recreate my email account on my BB again...Lets hope I didnt screw anything up in the process.
Try battery pull. I did that and I got them within 30 seconds. I'm Northern NJ.
My personal emails are trickling in now. Am guessing it will be all caught up shortly. ;)
Got mine a few minutes ago. Rochester, NY here on the VZ network.
EDIT: seems like I only got a few. Still not getting all of them. A lot still haven't come through.
