I did it this morning and never got the email back either. My husband never did it and his email came back on its own. I waited for 2 hours after his came back and then re-sent the service books again to my phone and the email came right through. So keep sending the service books even though you already did it before. One of these times it'll probably work.
I have.....I've been resending the service books most of the day (about 7 times) and I've never received any of the activation emails. I've pulled the battery several times....yadda yadda yadda. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm just an impatient person....especially when I have no control over a situation.
I'd still be waiting too if I hadn't re-sent my service books. So make sure you do that to see if you're really still down.
I'm a BB newbie and had no idea of all the hassles of BB ownership. I love the phone, but I'm having major issues all over the place I have a 9700 that drops virtually every call unless I turn both the 3G and WiFi off -- which was a big reason to get that phone. Ug. You'd think BB would have this stuff figured out by now. And why can't there be a BB Status page with announcements about outages, etc? Do they think that would make them look bad? Customers over an entire continent fumbling around for hours trying to figure out why their phone isn't working is what makes them look bad. I should get an email as soon as BB figures out there is a problem to let me know of potential issues and then get updates thereafter. IMHO anyway.
Yes, they should have a system status page. However your logic breaks down a bit later in your post when you demand that "somebody" send you an email "as soon as BB figures out there is a problem." Um. The problem was BIS-E. So if you're solely a BIS customer what good would sending you an email do? Other than further backlog the system when it comes back online...

wow its still out this is a pretty big outage :/....yes i have tried resending service books and it doesnt work i need it working for the weekend im going to be traveling.

Battery pull, service books .... Nothing works. Earlier today I was able to send email only but not working now. 7:45pm PST.

i had that too didnt know what it was but i have BerryBuzz and it was red and red means emails, so i looked in my message folder and there were 3 new emails in there that had already been marked as read but the light was blinking just click on the new emails and the light stopped
Update at 11:46PM EST Canada on the Rogers Wireless Network.
Still getting no e-mails and can't send out any email whatsoever.
This is sad. I have been down almost the entire day!!
