Do you think that this warrants some type of credit from Verizon? I cannot conduct my business without email and refuse to use the gmail app. I know its not Verizon's fault but its not my fault either.
Thank goodness!!! I was going crazy! I bricked my S2 last night and had to reload the OS. I thought something was wrong when I couldn't get my service books to send!! I've wiped and reloaded the OS deleted and setup my email again multiple times!
BIS outage sucks, but glad to hear its not just me! Southwest Missouri here, and no emails since about 0230 hours or so. Have internet access, just no email.
That's funny. Had to read it twice because I imagined waking up in the morning to have an email on my phone telling me not to expect any more emails for a while.
Com'on now Koondog! You know they'd send out smoke signals...sheesh!
Actually, from Twitter, "Verizon is reporting a national Blackberry outage. If you are not receiving emails on your blackberry.....it's not just you. "

Verizon is just relaying the message that they received from RIM. It is affecting all users, regardless of carrier.

Doubt it. Im sure you'll see RIM and VZW have 99% uptime. (or something like that)
8760 hours in a year
they can have 1% off that (87.6hrs) a year and still be within their uptime claims.
Sent out a test SMS this AM to my iPhone friend. He responded back, but that SMS never made it back to me. So is there some mechanism that pushes the SMS to your in-box that may be related to the email push, or is the email just an SMTP problem?
Also noticed a few flaky things like not being able to send a picture to a BBM contact from the Pictures folder, but it works from within BBM.
Everything else seems operational.
ETA: Tried using the Google Voice client for SMS and it works fine, though it is slow like it always is to refresh.

This is not a VZW outage...it is a RIM outage...again. It seems that if we want more reliable email, one should be evaluating a replacement for their Blackberry.
