So much for redundant servers and a backup plan. lol! Does redundancy EVER work? I have to see a service provider be able to offer little down time by switching over to a redundant plan. You think they would have one. what would happen if a disaster struck the main data center? maybe that's what happened. any thing over a couple hours, without explanation is complete BS! Have some balls, pony up, and let the public know what's going on RIM! Hiding in Canada isn't going to fly.
At this time of night, and since I'm obviously sitting in front of my computer, I really don't need my phone for anything. But, I'm enjoying sitting here & drinking with you all .
on hold with TMo USA now, I'm sure I'll get the runaround. I hate it when RIM's stuff crashes and we are left holding the bag
Don't try w/ T-Mo. Although they have great customer service, they really don't know anything that we don't know @ this point. I spoke w/ them a couple hours ago.
Wow. Feel lucky after reading all this. In Calgary, still have internet (slow), SMS, but facebook and BBM down for several hours now.
I do agree with others who say this is still the best on the market. It's young technology folks. Like everything, it will improve with time. Remember how often the internet went out when it was young? And yes it would be for many hours at a time.
"RIM is performing emergency maintenance on the RIM network which is expected to take 6-8 hours. During the maintenance little or no traffic is expected to pass. Next update will be sent after 6 AM."
