I noticed this too when I logged on to my T-Mobile account. My 8900 was showing as an 8320. Maybe they are just sold out or preparing to release the T-Mo 9700.

They just told me they're sending me a replacement for my BB, could it be a refurb since they're no longer selling the 8900?
Even if they were still selling the 8900, you'd still be getting the refurbed 8900. When cel phone companies replace phones under warranty, you get refurbs. End of story.

hey norriscell, i just got off the phone with tmobile once i saw this thread and i asked them being that the device is no longer for sale does that mean that OS updates wont be supported? the man replied that as of right now no, and that he had seen nothing to indicate that they would be in the future but if i wanted to DL the OS from the BlackBerry website i could.

in short, with tmo nixing the 8900 the device wont see an official tmo 5.0 upgrade. can you wink twice if that's true?
Most companies still support OS upgrades after the device is gone. How long they will continue to do so is something to be seen

I just called the store and they said they will not be selling the 8900 at all anymore. Incredibly frustrating as this is the phone I was going to upgrade to. How can tmo only offer one higher end bb? The bold is too big for me. This could be the last straw w/ tmo.

Do not fear, the 8900 is still offered through other websites. Ever heard of ACN? That's who I got my phone through. Had no problems at all. I know a rep if you want to sign up or extend your contract.

I called tmo to upgrade last night and they said they are completely out of stock of the 8900. I ended up ordering the 9700

What's keeping you from going with the 9700? Now that it is $129, you aren't spending much more. I'm confused as to how this may be the last straw. The fact of the matter is that the price drop caused the 8900s to sell like mad

the fact that that phone can support 3g has me sold that the 9700 > 8900. they are almost the same size too right?

Is there a reason why you want the 8900 instead of the 9700? 9700 an upgrade from the 8900, only thing I can think of is I prefer the 8900 better than the 9700 as of right now but I think if I have a 9700 as a daily I will grow to love it. I think tmobile should give away the 8900 for free on a 2 year but RIM released the 8520 and the 8900 seem left out now.
