Since the 8530 is coming to Verizon later this month, anyone know if there are plans for it to show up in the USCC line up?
Personally I would be more apt to go for the 8530 (Cheaper, but still has WIFI) The Tour looks like a REALLY nice phone but I have no use for a world phone, why pay for something I'm not going to use and the 8530 has just as much memory as the Tour.
I was just wondering this myself after I saw Sprint's announcement. I've been planning on picking up the Tour, but if USCC launches the 8530, I think I'll have to go with it, especially if it'll be cheaper than the Tour.
I don't really think that USCC can afford not to launch it personally. They are severly lacking at their BlackBerry offerings, having just launched the Tour a week or two ago. They really need to update their smartphone roster if they want to compete with the larger providers.
Im in a total pickle right now... it's like, do i wait for the 8530 to come out cause i like the buttons better? Do i get the tour on the free phone day even though i dont like the trackball feel... Or wait and see if another blackberry device will show up to us cellular in the near future?

The only other CDMA BB I can think of would be the Storm2 or the Essex (Tour w/ WiFi and the optical trackpad)...neither of which I've heard anything about regarding future availability on USCC.
If you're eligible you could get the Tour during the Black Friday sale and test it out. The most recent rumor is that the 8530 will be out on Dec. 10 so you can then go into a USCC store and play around with the 8530. You'll be well within your 30 day swap period so you can switch if you like or stick with the Tour.

Right. The only problem with getting the Tour on Black Friday is that you'll have to pay the difference when the 8530 comes out. You may
want to wait to send in the rebate until you settle on a phone, then again the smartphone rebate is always $70 so it may not matter. Be sure to ask the rep when you go in.

I upgraded from the Curve 8330 to the Tour 9630, and we had to fill out the rebate again, the Rep said that if they cannot varify the phone is active during the waiting peroid for the rebate then they will void the rebait, so when I upgraded to the Tour I had to resend the rebate info.
8530 should be out very soon, I played around with our live demo unit in the store today. I would still prefer a Tour personally but this was a nice little unit.

I'm going out to US Cell now to "help" a co-worker get a 8530. They called him and said they got the new phone, so I assume this is it...I talked with them yesterday and said I expect it in tomorrow (which is today). Let you know soon!
So yeah, us cellular has the 8530! Pretty nice phone actually...I like the idea of the trackpad, but I think it would really take some getting used to.
