Better too much than too little. For example, I'd rather have 6000 min even though I never go over 1000 min 11 months out of a year. It's the overages that kick your ****. You never know when that extra data might come in handy.

That is true; I wouldn't mind to go from 500MB to 6gigs for $5 at any rate. Wish I thought to ask the CSR about it when I got my BB data plan.

I've been really nervous about going over my 500MB...I never did before because I had the UL browsing on my non-smart phone before. But after seeing on my bill that I barely even hit 10mb in as many days, I'm not too worried about going over 500MB :P

I downgraded from my 6GB to the 500MB with unlimited SMS/etc. and ended up saving a bunch of money by doing that. And I have never gone over 100MB on my BB, so I found 6GB to be overkill.

yeah 500mb is like a 250,000 emails a month. if your doing that much or more you need to go to a support group cause you have issues. lol

The 6gb plan is useful for streaming video, audio and tethering.

I use lots of data on my BB because I tether to my laptop and watch TV on my BB with Sling player. I can burn through 1.5 GB in an hour if I wanted to.

500 MB per month is plenty for me on my 8220 (only so much of a 'user experience' I can have on the device - especially given web access and the screen), but I would have happily bought into a Rocket Stick with a $30 6GB plan for my netbook.

Phone CSR laughed when I suggested it - "Way too useful and a great idea. Rogers would never go for it".

    Yes, well...

I just got 6gig, I was told its a must
For movies, radio, etc, all day, I am
Listening or watching...I hope its enuff.
If not, bell wireless is looking good for
All phone features and unlimited date
    All just $45. EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING
UNLIMITED. Ill gladly pay rogers the $400
Early cancel fee. Bell plan pays that
    Off first year in savings.

the 6GB plan is overkill... its to my understanding that only 2 people have ever gone over the 6GB plan (with the exception of tethering) since it has been released.
500MB is usually more than enough unless your going to sit on your phone and do nothing but youtube all day.
Bell could be an option if you are that concerned, but in doing so, you will cut your internet speeds by at least one half and take a hit on network reliability.

I used 5.4GB last month because of tethering and I know what days I tethered my phone because I marked it on my BB calendar lol. So I looked at my bill and sure enough, 5.4GB very close to the limit.

Yes it is overkill, I am sure most people know that. But for $30 what other plans are comparable? 500gb is quite easy to surpass with streaming radio/ video/ slingbox and orb that I use regularly. So the 6gb plan was a no brainer!

I actually called and got it for $20. ($30 plus a $10 monthly credit.) So I am laughing. What do I get for $20? Nothing comes close.

I've been looking at getting that plan, too but I haven't had time to research the alternatives. I heard that Telus or Bell will be coming up with 4G speed shortly and that's why Rogers is trying to get as many people to sign up for 3 years with this data plan. I am primarily interested in tethering. What kind of speeds are you guys getting from Rogers when tethering via your blackberries on your laptops or other computers?
