Isn't the unlock code unique for each phone based on the IMEI number? So you can't "give away" your code to someone else, or am I wrong?

i don't have the specific code, i will give them the imei and they will send me the code. they specify the instructions in their email, but i have already got mine unlocked. figured i would give it to someone else.
