So as of today Canadian Carriers can no longer charge you for unlocking your phone!

Only consumer accounts. Business accounts still have to pay.

I have a business account with Telus, and they unlocked mine when I called earlier today.

Let me clarify, the Canadian law doesn't require existing business accounts to be unlocked for free. Decision to do so is at carrier's discretion.

Current Roger's, and I believe Bell's policy as well, is to continue to charge the $50 to unlock older devices.
